Latvian National Standard LVS 1055: 2019 for installation cables are in force
20.06.2019. is published National Standard LVS 1055: 2019 “Low Voltage Electrical Cables of Rated Voltages up to and including 450/750 V with Cross-Linked Polyethylene (XLPE) or Polyvinylchloride (PVC) Insulation and Polyvinylchloride (PVC) Sheath. Requirements for Design and Operation Characteristics'
The new standard sets out the specific requirements for cables with Cross-Linked Polyethylene (XLPE) or Polyvinylchloride (PVC) Insulation and Polyvinylchloride (PVC) Sheath with copper wires, intended for use in low-voltage electrical installations of private and commercial use with a voltage of up to 450/750 V (including 300/500 V and less rated) voltage.
The target groups of the users of the document are the building owners, contractors, designers, electrical installers and cable manufacturers for the construction of the internal wiring of low-voltage buildings.
The standard has been prepared by the “Latvian Electrical Material Wholesalers' Association” and approved by the Latvian Standardisation Technical Committee LVS STK 51“ "Electrical {ower Engineering"
